2025-2026 Toyota HiLux Recalled Due to Bullbar Fault
The fault lies with an incorrectly installed light bar on genuine accessory bullbars, which could lead to a loss of power steering assistance. According to the recall notice, this issue could increase steering effort at low speeds, potentially raising the risk of accidents and causing injury or death.

Toyota Australia has recalled 13,390 units of the latest-generation 2025-2026 HiLux ute due to an electrical fault with the electric power steering module. The recall notice, published on Toyota Australia’s website, explains:
"Affected HiLux vehicles have been fitted with a Toyota Genuine Accessory bull bar or nudge bar with light bar, where the wiring harness may have been incorrectly installed… This can compromise the earth connection to the Electric Power Steering (EPS) module…"
